From1995 – 1996, with support from the Ministry of Health and UNICEF, VAM conducted 7 TOT training courses on Safe Motherhood for 244 midwives and 16 refresher courses for 560 midwives at communal levels.
Funded by PATHFINDER and IPAS, VAM held 4 workshops on Safe Motherhood for 200 midwives working in districts and wards of Hanoi and Hue.
In February, 1998, VAM Hue implemented the project "Reproductive Health care for Poor Women in remote areas" which funded by the Japanese Embassy. The project has provided free services for more than 10,000 poor women in moutainous and coastal areas.
Funded by EC/UNFPA VAM Hue co-operated with Marie Stopes International implement the project "Reproductive Health Care for Adolescents in HUE " from 1999 to 2002 . The objective of the project was to improve the reproductive health status among young people by providing quality and friendly services together with IEC programs for adolescents in Hue. The project is highly evaluated by the MOH, local authorities and many social mass organizations .
In 2004, funded by Japanese Embassy VAM received the project "REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE FOR POOR WOMEN IN QUANG BINH " .
From 2004 – 2006, VAM implemented successfully the project "SERVICE PROVISION& HEALTH SEEKING BEHAVIOUR CHANGE FOR ADOLESCENTS & YOUTH " IN THUA THIEN-HUE & KHANH HOA " funded by EC /UNFPA .
Funded by the Canadian Association of Midwives, one member of the Association attended the 23rd International Conference in Vancouver, Canada .
Funded by the Midwives Association of Norway, International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) and UNICEF, two members of the Association attended the 24th conference in Oslo, Norway .
Funded by ICM and WHO, 2 members of VAM attended 25th International Conference in Manila, Philippines .
Funded by the Japanese Association of Midwives , 3 members of VAM attended the International Conference of Midwives of the Pacific Region in Tokyo, Japan .
